The CIEHF’s South West & South Wales Regional Group will be holding a presentation evening in Bristol on 12 February 2018. It will be a great networking opportunity and is accompanied by a wine and cheese tasting.

Human Factors Integration (HFI) is the process used by the Ministry of Defence (MOD) to ensure a systematic approach to identifying, tracking and addressing human-related considerations. It is a mandated process within Defence procurement, requiring a range of stakeholders and roles to support the identification, management and mitigation of potential human factors issues. Therefore, identifying and developing the correct knowledge, skills and attitudes of those involved is vital to support the success of HFI within organisations such as Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S).

Atkins has recently conducted a Training Needs Analysis (TNA) to identify the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to support HFI in a number of roles on behalf of DE&S. A presentation will be given that provides an overview of how the TNA approach was applied, the roles involved and the competencies identified that support HFI across the organisation. It considers the difference between competency requirements for human factors as a technical discipline and HFI as a process for different stakeholders involved.

The wine and cheese will be specially selected and the event will take place at Atkins facilities at The Hub, 500 Park Avenue, Aztec West, Bristol BS32 4RZ from 19:00. The subsidised cost for the evening is less than £20.
