Green ergonomics

We are pleased to announce that Margaret Hanson, Chartered Ergonomist & Human Factors Specialist, will be presenting ‘Green Ergonomics: Challenges and Opportunities’ at this event.

She will consider how our profession can address some of the issues and challenges raised by a changing climate and resultant need to live and work in more sustainable ways. Specifically, she will consider how ergonomics can be applied to the design of jobs and work areas in the renewables sector (wind, marine and solar power), in recycling and in organic food production.

The presentation will also cover how ergonomics can be used in the design of ‘environmentally friendly’ products, and how we can use our knowledge to help promote behaviour change in relation to more sustainable living.

This will be followed by a short meeting to plan the 2017 schedule for the group so please come along to ensure you get your say on venues and topics.

Festive drinks and nibbles will be provided. We are hoping to arrange Christmas drinks and possibly a bite to eat at a nearby venue after the event so if this sounds like something you’d like to do, please indicate your interest when you sign up.

Please book your place online.
