If you’re currently doing a PhD, this event could be invaluable to you.
The CIEHF’s Doctoral Consortium will take place on Monday 23rd April as part of the CIEHF’s Ergonomics & Human Factors conference, EHF2018, in Birmingham. The packed day will consist of short student presentations, small group workshops and a chance to see keynote speakers and to network with other researchers, as well as other academics and practitioners.
It’s a great opportunity to present your work, at whatever stage you’ve got to, in front of a friendly and encouraging audience. You’ll get constructive feedback on your work, whether it’s the theoretical framework that you’re using or a specific study that you’re presenting. You’ll also be welcome to bring along any technologies, systems or products that you are developing to demonstrate either during your talks or informally during the breaks and lunch interval.
In addition, you will be able to participate in virtual reality demonstrations that are taking place throughout the day as part of the main conference ‘Life in the Smart Age’ theme.
You don’t even have to present to come to the Doctoral Consortium, you can just come to listen and learn and meet the presenters.
Submit an abstract
If you’re a PhD student, please submit a short abstract (max 300 words), providing a brief summary of your research and the topic you’d like to talk about at the Consortium. If your abstract is accepted, you’ll need to book and pay for your attendance. The whole day costs just £65+VAT, which include all the activities, refreshments and lunch. The deadline to submit your abstract is:
16 March 2018.
